Information about the Carvings

My carvings are forest friendly, I use salvaged wood from already down trees to minimize my impact on the environment.

Most of my sculptures are between 4 - 10 feet tall. Each carving holds its own special characteristic quality. No two carvings are exactly the same.

The wood for each piece is carefully handpicked primarily from Western Red Cedar. I am drawn to Red Cedar not only for its resistance to deterioration but for its strength and vibrancy.

Whenever wood is used there is the possibility for some cracking. This occurs when the wood dries unevenly and from expansion and contraction due to weather changes. To minimize the cracking, each carving is treated with exterior wood preservative products to keep your carving looking good for years to come.
